1. Overview

Can't make it to the auction? Catch all the action online as it's happening live, through real-time audio/visual feeds with LiveBlock, ADESA's live online car auction tool. Bid alongside other dealers at up to three auctions at once. Save time and money with LiveBlock.

LiveBlock lets you:
• Research: View vehicles before they hit the auction block
• Utilize: Place vehicles you're interested in on your Watch List
• Multi-task: Bid on multiple vehicles at different auctions at the same time with AutoBid
• Real-time: LiveBlock auctions all happen live
• Bid: Place bids interactively alongside dealers on the auction floor
• Save: Eliminate travel costs; find inventory online

Log in

1. LOG IN VIA ADESA.COM

• Enter your user ID and password.


IF YOU ARE NOT YET REGISTERED:
• Click on the REGISTER NOW button on ADESA.com.
• Complete and submit the online registration form; Customer Connection will then contact you to complete your registration information.

IF YOU ARE NOT YET REGISTERED:
• Access ADESA.com and click on REGISTER NOW.
• Complete and submit the online registration form; Customer Connection will then contact you to complete your registration information.

NOTE: If you are associated with multiple dealerships, a pop up screen will ask you to select a dealership.

2. NAVIGATE TO LIVEBLOCK

• Click the LIVEBLOCK button on the home page.
• Click on BUY from the main navigation bar then click LIVEBLOCK from the sub navigation bar.

View LiveBlock auction inventory

3. VIEW LIVEBLOCK AUCTION INVENTORY

• View inventory by location, cosignor, and sale date.
• Sort results by clicking on column headings.
• Refine your search by clicking on drop-down boxes.

• When a live sale event has started, click on the JOIN button
• Click the car button to view the RUN LIST for a specific sale event.

4. REVIEW INVENTORY

• Sort your results by clicking on column headings.

• Refine your search by clicking on drop-down boxes.
• Add vehicles to your WATCH LIST.
• Or, place AUTOBIDS from search results screen.

• Click VIN to access detailed condition reports.
• Add vehicles to your WATCH LIST or place AUTOBIDS from the condition report screen.

Place auto bids

6. PLACE AUTOBIDS

• Click the AUTOBID button from the RUN LIST screen or condition report to place an AUTOBID.
• Place your maximum bid and the system will bid for you in low-dollar increments, up to your maximum.

NOTE: AUTOBIDS can be edited or removed up until two hours before the auction start time. And, vehicles with AUTOBIDS are automatically added to your WATCH LIST.

7A. VIEW WATCH LIST VEHICLES ON LIVEBLOCK

• Click MY WATCHES to view vehicles added to your WATCH LIST for your dealership.

NOTE: MY WATCHES displays all vehicles added to your WATCH LIST by all buyers/reps registered for your dealership.

• Click the AUTOBID button to edit or remove an AUTOBID up to two hours before auction start time.

NOTE: AUTOBIDS can now be edited or removed by any buyer/rep registered for your dealership.





7B. VIEW WATCH LIST VEHICLES ON ADESA.COM

Click on WATCH LIST on the main navigation bar, then click LIVEBLOCK in the sub navigation bar.

8. SALE CHECK-IN

• First, click JOIN! from the SCHEDULE page to join a live sale.
• Then, enter your contact information, payment, transportation and post-sale inspection preferences to expedite your check out process.

Bid on vehicles

9. BID ON VEHICLES

• Bid on vehicles by clicking the BID button.
• Your bid will be sent to the auction block and integrated with bids from the floor.
• View additional lanes by clicking the Watch More Lanes tab.
• View up to three additional lanes.
• To move to a different watched lane, click the Click to Participate link.

NOTE: The bid history area displays all bidding activity. If your bid is successful, your dealership name and bid amount will appear. Also watch this area for special announcements.

LiveBlock Bidding — How To Guides


Getting started

1. CHECK TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Click HELP from the main navigation, then click TEST THE NEW LIVEBLOCK.









• Click OK to launch the test bidding interface.

NOTE: This may take several minutes to verify your system settings.




• If the test is successful, you will hear audio and see video of a clock.




• If you have never installed the LIVEBLOCK bidding interface, a new window will open the installation instructions.

NOTE: Contact Customer Connection at 888-526-7326 if you have any questions with the install process.

Overview of LiveBlock bidding interface

2. OVERVIEW OF LIVEBLOCK BIDDING INTERFACE

The bidding interface is divided into 3 sections:
• Main bidder: This section displays live bidding with video and audio.
• Upcoming vehicles: This section displays upcoming vehicles for the sale in the main bidder.
• Mini-bidders: This section displays additional watched lanes with live bidding.

Using the main bidder

3. USING THE MAIN BIDDER

• Bid on vehicles by clicking the ASKING BID button. Your bid will be sent to the auction block and integrated with bids from the floor.
• The ASKING BID button lets you know the status of your bid.

ο Gray - Bidding has not started.
ο Teal - Bidding has started, you are not participating.
ο Green - You are winning the bid.
ο Gold - You have been outbid.

• The bid history area displays all bidding activity. If your bid is successful, your dealership name and bid amount will appear. Also watch this area for special announcements.
• Quickly toggle between live auction video and vehicle photos. Scroll through photos, or click ENLARGE to view a larger image.
• To view additional vehicle details, click the vehicle description.

View upcoming vehicles

4. VIEW UPCOMING VEHICLES

• Sort upcoming vehicles by clicking the run, year, make or model buttons.
• Enter Free form text to quickly search for a vehicle.
• You can build your WATCH LIST by clicking ADD TO WATCH LIST.

NOTE: Vehicles in your WATCH LIST are shaded. And, AUTOBIDS places by all authorized users for your dealership will be displayed here.

Using the mini-bidders

5. USING THE MINI-BIDDERS

• Click the ADD MORE LANES button from the upcoming vehicles section to bid in up to 10 additional lanes.
• Sort lanes by location, start time or by sales already live in progress.
• Enter free form text to quickly search for a specific lane.
• Click the ADD LANE button to add the lane to your mini-bidder.

• Click BID to bid directly from your mini-bidder.
• Click on the vehicle information to view additional vehicles details.
• Click the arrows to scroll through your watched lanes.
• Use the icons to manace your mini-bidder lanes.

mini-bidder swap button Swaps the mini-bidder with the main bidder.
mini-bidder new tab Brings the mini-bidder up to a new tab where you can quickly toggle to view lanes in the main bidder.
Close mini-bidder Closes the mini-bidder.

• Click Close mini-bidder to move the lane from a tab back down to a mini-bidder.

Tested and Approved System Configurations

    Operating Systems:
  • • Windows XP; Windows Vista; Windows 7; Windows 8 in Desktop Mode only (not Metro Mode)
  • • Mac OS X 10.7 and higher
Browsers:
  • • Internet Explorer 8 and higher (32-bit only)
  • • Firefox 2.5 and higher
  • • Safari
  • • Chrome
Hardware:
  • • Pentium 4 or higher @ 1.5 GHz
  • • 1 GB RAM
  • • Screen resolution at 1152 x 864, minimum (1280 x 1024 is recommended)
  • • High-speed Internet connection (download speed must average at least 0.5 Mbps)
  • • Sound card and speakers (optional)
Networking:
  • • These TCP firewall ports must be open for outbound connections: port 6789, port 8000, and port 80 (contact your IT administrator for assistance)

NOTE: You will need application installation privileges on your computer to install the LiveBlock bidding container application. Contact your IT administrator for assistance.

Port and firewall help

  • • The following TCP firewall ports must be open for outbound connections: port 6789, port 8000 and port 80
  • • Turn off content filtering and traffic shaping
  • • If you are unable to access LiveBlock, temporarily disable/configure your firewall
  • • IP addresses can change; avoid IP-based firewall rules

Why can I see video, but not audio?

  • • Check the computer volume icon to make sure no devices are muted
  • • Check the speaker icon on the bidding interface is not muted
  • • Temporarily disable security software (i.e. Norton Antivirus, MacAfee); recheck audio
  • • Try closing the bidding interface and rejoining the sale
  • • Temporarily disable third-party toolbars; recheck audio

What does "connecting to broadcast" mean?

  • • Sale may be over or not yet started
  • • The following TCP firewall ports must be open for outbound connections: port 6789, port 8000 and port 80
  • • Temporarily disable any security software and retry

My screen says "download the new software" but I just did. Now what?

  • • You may not have administrator privileges on your PC; contact your IT systems administrator
  • • Make sure you're using a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer (64-bit browsers are not supported)
  • • Temporarily disable any security software and retry
  • • Some security software may prompt you to "Allow" or "Deny" the software installation
  • • The add-on may be installed, but disabled

The screen says "click here to enter sale." I did and nothing happened.

  • • Check taskbar to see if an aution is running in another window

Can I look at multiple auctions at the same time?

  • • Yes, you can join up to ten (10) auctions at one time by clicking ‘Add More Lanes’ on the bidding interface
  • • Only one open Internet browser is recommended when using LiveBlock

My computer freezes in the middle of a sale.

  • • Computer does not meet system requirements
  • • Possible bandwidth issues with your Internet provider
  • • Close other open applications that may slow down your computer

I am receiving a message that I am not authorized to participate in the auction. What should I do?

  • • Your registration status is not current. Please contact the auction directly and ask for Dealer Registration

How can I tell if I purchased a vehicle?

  • • Click "My Purchases" on the top left corner of the LiveBlock schedule page; purchases are immediately placed on this report
